Also known as Yellow-band Dart or Southern Dart. Common and widespread. Distributed se Australia and along Queensland coast, subspecies in northern NT. Savannah woodland and eucalyptus open-forest and woodland, preferring mostly grassy areas and suburban gardens.

Found in wide variety of habitats, including edges of monsoon forests, savannah, woodland and grassland where laval plants grow. Very common and very widespread.
